I was just making conversation and wanted opinions, closing the thread so quickly was a little harsh dude. But I was warned when I came here that moderators will close threads at will. Oh well, I suppose You should just not have opinions on this board or something.

It's our prerogative to close threads that we think are going to get heated, since we do this in our spare time and don't have time to police everything on the board. (Mods do this on every board. Spend some time at TGP ...)

What you don't know is that the seller of that guitar has a long history here and there have been a few controversial threads about his guitars for sale. Having lost time to them before, I'd prefer to not do it again.

Closing the thread wasn't a shot at you, so try not to take it personally or insult us by saying you were warned about the board, etc.

That's cool. But I was being honest that I was warned. And that isn't a shot at you or this forum. If this is something that got heated at one time and I missed it, so be it. I was unaware of that discussion. I certainly don't want to poke a bee's nest again. I only started the thread basically to warn my fellow ernie ball family of a rip off artist and watch out. I have no problem keeping the peace..

I find people bitch about every forum on every other forum. On every board you have to "watch out for the mods" or "it used to be different", etc. For this board, there are a few guys who were banned from here for legitimate reasons that like to stir it up elsewhere. (The more vocal ones have been banned from multiple boards ...)

What's different about this place is that it's run by the manufacturer, so that makes it different than some of the popular hobbyist boards. Threads relating to customer service or quality issues are left open for a short time, then they're closed after the customer service folks have a chance to address them. Threads discussing the competition are often removed as well, so as to not be inflammatory. And there are some historical topics that always result in a flame war, so we close those as well. As with any forum, the guys that run it have the final say (FYI, the mods here don't work for Ernie Ball, we just participate like anybody else.)

Anyhow, I'm sure people do appreciate the heads-up on that auction.

Yes, and of course it used to be different, because it WAS different! People come and go, the feel of the forum changes, and new rules are put in place as required. Just like any bar you've ever been a regular in, or any other part of life, nothing stays the same.

And yes moderators get flack everywhere, and not just on the guitar forums. Mother and baby, stamp collectors, computer programmers, train spotters - no matter where you go, there will always be people who are some combination of opinionated, over-enthusiastic, over-sensitive, or just having a bad day, and they'll let rip on whatever poor moderator was unlucky enough to get to the crash site first. If you saw some of the crap that comes our way you'd be uncomfortable living on the same street as some of the people we've banned over the years. *shudder*

As the French almost never say, "c'est la vie!"

Rob no doubt has one of the nicest Ball collections around. Just check out his album in his profile. I think most of them are on there…not sure since he seems to snatch so many up, lol.

Anyway, each one is a 10!
