I have this clone of Leo's design that deserved flats so I went to GC and picked up a set of Cobalts.

This is what flats should sound like. Crisp but still thumpy. Other I've tried just make your bass sound dull and awful.

And somehow, EB keeps the price reasonable compared to other flats of comparable quality.

I put a set on my 40th Old Smoothie and have been unable to put it down since then.

Killer flats, aren't they?

they are some proper good flats :)

every beginners bass should have a set
easy on the fingers, last forever

whats there not to like?

Just put a set on my P Bass. So far, so good, I will be trying them out the rest of this week, so I will have a detailed report coming soon.

My first impression is they are quite zingy sounding for flats. They also appear to be somewhat high tension.

C'est moi! Digging them strangs Jack. But I still have a Stingray with TI's on it. Everyone gives me funny looks when I tell them it has flats on it. Then they hear it and I'm like... see.... see! I owe that to you Jack. :)

Stingray and Bongos with flats, oh my! Yeah, people thought I was crazy, too. Never forget LaRue picking up my red Bongo and getting this confused look on his face...."Oh. Those are FLATS."

Yes, Dave. Yes they are.
