I just put a set of Cobalt flatwounds on my brand new Fender 70s jazz bass and as soon as I was finished tuning them the G string just snapped while the bass was sitting on my couch. I have never had any bass string break before and just wondered if this has happened to anyone else with these strings? I have used them on other basses I have had and really like the sound and the feel but this sort of surprised me to say the least.

i just put a set of Cobalt Power Slinky's on my Peavey Frankenbass (Grind body, 72 Jazz pups). Tuned to pitch, but the G string broke when I picked the bass up. Now I can't find a single string to match, gotta throw down 30 bucks for another full set. I'm on a fixed income, & 60 bucks to change strings one time cuts deep!
