Hey so i've been using slinky's for a longgg time then the coated's came out and switched to them which i've been using for a couple of years now.So i wanted to try the cobalt strings and yesterday was the day after the dark lord got setup the cobalt 10 gauge strings were put on.
First thoughts they felt a little stiffer but at the same time were louder( acousticlly...is that a word)?
after plugging in i'm hearing more definition while riffing and soloing like the note pop out at you and i can hear the attack when the pick hits the strings.
End result...I LOVE THEM!
Bottom line,DON't LISTEN TO WHAT THE NEXT PERSON THINKS TRY THEM OUT YOURSELF!!!

I'm not going to say what I think about the Cobalts but I now have them on all my electrics...

Same here, they're on all my electrics except one, my archtop jazz guitar. And thanks for the fast shipment, Pete.

I only play 7 strings, but.. I tried a 6 string with cobalts.. amazing!
But do you guys think my low B will sound pure, if I have cobalts on the rest??

I played 7 for years with 6 coated strings and a reg 56 slinky for the low B...It wasn't a problem and it won't be a problem with 6 cobalt's and a reg 56 for you...
you'll like the result.

I found they felt strange at first. Thinner and slinkier on the heavier strings. Digging them.

I found them stiffer, louder and good for harmonics. As I found them stiffer I put them on my ebmms that have the lowest action and neck relief.

@Spud, try stringsdirect.co.uk, they're in the UK and have free next day delivery in the UK. Last time I checked they had the cobalts in stock.
Cool thanks for that. I was hoping that Thomann would have had them in stock - my mate asked me if I wanted anything as he had the postage all covered. The price of the cobalts with Thomann was really good!!.
Oh well - I still have about 20 sets of slinkies to go through!!

I rave about them. I work at a guitar store and I got them to carry the strings. I get people to 'upgrade' from slinkys to cobalts fairly regularly. :) I can tell you, our store goes through WAY more EB strings now that I work there. My next step is to try out the new EB Everlast acoustic strings. Feel free to send a pack of 12s to The Candyman anytime. HAHA.
