I bought 2 Cobalt sets 45-65-80-100 from GC yesterday and put them on my F****r. I must admit to being totally and completely impressed. The sustain is amazing, the mids and lows loud and punchy, and the highs clear. They are a bit of a different color, kind of a cooler silver rather than warmer. Noticeable when held next to a nickel string but nothing overt. Great silky playable feel, tension neither too low or too high. The bass sounded so good I was compelled to stay up way too late for a work night, and I felt good and played really well (for me anyway), like one does when you have a new weapon in your equipment arsenal that you are really digging and it inspires you to greater heights musically. I haven't tested in a band or gig situation yet, but I think they are gonna be great. These strings are the real deal, Cobalt is definitely not hype. I'm happy I got 2 sets, so I can put them on my EBMM Sterling tonight as soon as I get off work. These strings are going to set the bar really high; they are absolutely amazing! Congrats on another game changing product; that term applies perfectly to the Cobalts

Yah Baby!

Called on a couple of local stores in Alberta - Cobalts are generating ALOT of excitement, but no one expects them until May.... :(

On a side note, a coworker of mine is a Chemistry teacher - I told him about how cobalt is the new thing for guitar and bass strings. I thought it was very interesting considering cobalt and nickel (a traditional string material) are located next to one another on the periodic table of elements. Might be an interesting project for students to undertake. Just from what I saw on Youtube, it looks like a lot of science and research was applied by Ernie Ball/Music Man to the use of cobalt.

I got my email last night from GC. I probably won't have them on time for this weekend but come next week the basses will be singing in Cobalt land. :D

Stopped at local GC today, Cobalt Reg and Super Slinkys are in there. So they are making their way in the stores!
