cobalts string life?

Has anyone else noticed that their cobalt (roundwound) strings wear out faster, much faster, than the regular ones? I have allways used slinkys on bass and guitar and could not be hapier with em. But i gave the cobalts a shot on guitar and bass. And altough they sound better amplified, after a few hours of playing or one sweaty gig, they are completely coroded. Unplayable. On bass i usually only put new strings on every year or longer.... and still the strings are fine. On cobalts the life span is 1-2 months or 1 gig.

Nope I am still on my first set on 2 basses. I do wipe them down between sets. They have lasted about 3 months on my main bass, and almost a year on my backup.

On my main players, I get 4-6 months on roundwound cobalts. For me, that's a little longer than I used to get from slinkies. None of mine have ever corroded and I have them on 3 basses.

Interesting, I use to play Regular Slinkys for years now but with the Cobalt Rounds on my Sterling I have the feeling they actually remain fresh a little longer compared to the Regular Slinkys.

Must be something like that. Ive tried 3 guitar and 2 bass sets and all where rusty and coroded really fast. Also the cobalts tend to roll away underneath my fingers. Feels like the wound strings are looser then regular slinky's? Mayebe a different inner core? Well i guess for me slinky's are just the better choice....

Yeah...I'll also say that I find the Cobalts last longer than regular slinkys. And, yeah, they do have a softer, looser feel and bend more easily than regular slinkies.

they last longer than slinkys, I will have to see if they last as long as the coated slinkys.
