Hey,

After considering new pickups for my Y2D I've come to the conclusion that the stock pickups sound fantastic and that I'm an idiot getting caught up in pickup hype for no apparent reason. That said, some single coil-ish sounds would pretty much make this guitar perfect for anything. Has anyone installed a coil split in their Y2D and if so how simple was it/do you have any diagrams? I was thinking about making the tone control a push/pull.

Thanks!

At Tommy's suggestion, I've got the tone pot wired up as a variable split on the bridge pickup of my Y2D, it works really well.

Google "Spin-a-split" for a diagram.

Yes I've done that on my Y2D. Just put in a push-pull pot to split both the bridge and neck. The neck split sounds really good! Excellent pickups!
