Collectable Musicman stuff on ebay

I decided to post an Ernie Ball promo banner and old pre EB bass strings on ebay today. Great for you Musicman collectors!

I wonder if those are standard issue Ernie Ball strings from that era.

Good question, I wondered the same thing. I brought the strings to a luthier friend who remembers the brand way back in the day. He believes they were not manufactured by Ernie Ball. The string sleeves identify "Musicman Mfg. Anaheim, CA. I suppose that Ernie Ball could have been the manufacturer for Musicman prior to buying the company from Leo Fender back in the early 80's.

I'm sure that someone out there may know the answer to this one.
