Just like Rob says.- really.

I had to have it "both ends!!"
They gave me an injection before hand - as they finished the colon procedure I asked if they were gonna do the throat next (not with the same camera ha!) Their reply was "no we have done that - you can go now".

I admit that as I was waiting to go in, I felt like running out - but honestly, it was fine, fine, fine.

Just ensure you have someone to take you home and to keep an eye on you for the next 24 hours - the drug they give you means that you could potentially turn the stove/cooker on and forget all about it.

Same as Kev says.

Obviously for choice you'd go without but it's not so bad. Parking my motorbike under a truck was sooo much worse.

Well the wife is having one in 2 weeks and I have to do it next fall or winter, hear its not bad except for the prep, as Rob said gross liquid and no food.

No big deal man. You dont eat anything the night before, drink heaps of this gross liquid stuff to empty your system, next day you go in, drop yer trousers, lay down, and dream of something nice, then its all over.

Then your doctor posts a few pictures on his facebook page. No biggie.

Agreed with those that have already spoken. The proceedure is a cake walk -- go to sleep, wake-up, go home, and play your EBMM. The prep, on the other hand, is bloody aweful. My recomendation: chill the liquid mixture in the fridge. It was more tolerable at the end when the remaining mixture was cold. Oh yeah, and have lots of reading literature for the bathroom. :)

It's a necessary evil of getting older and not a very dignified procedure, "butt" an important cautionary one....it's your "doody" if you will.
