Hi all, I had a long talk with my favorite salesman at the HOG today. I am trading a couple of guitars ( a PRS SC250 and an Ibanez SGSR 5 string from the mid 90s) for a new bass. I'm sure money will also be trading hands. I am looking at the Sterling 5 and trying to decide between HH and HS. Also I had a followup phone call to him and we both got on the EB web site. On his computer he had 9 colors for the Sterling 5 and I had 17. I was describing the Pacific Blue Burst to him and it wasn't on his screen, we both had the exact EB home page. Anyone know if this is an available color or was it discontinued? I am really pumped, I love the Sterling BFR I have. Am really leaning toward the HS. Opinions....... Thanks, John

Hey John, color wise looks to me like you're correct, I don't see any model with nine choices, the classics have six colors but the Sterling classic is a four string. They just added two colors to the mix (Tangerine Pearl & Sky Blue) so if if Pacific Blue was discontinued I'm sure it wouldn't be there, I'd call Customer Service for the skinny on it though.
The Sterling is the only MM I've never owned so best to hear from some Sterling players on the pkup's, my 2 cents is the HS did you check out the schematics on the color page ? You can see the pickup configuration for each position. And here's Ed Friedland's review of an HH

Good luck in your quest, Rick

The colours dont all show up if you're using Internet Explorer I've found. However, if you use something else (eg Firefox), than it seems you can view them all. There used to be a warning at the top of the website. You'd think someone would fix it wouldn't you?

Again, thanks Rick. Ed used a HH. Found another video on that site where Molly Pauken used a HS. Great videos. John
