Two pups make more noise for sure and I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting one.
IMHO. EB basses have always been able to get the job done with one pickup and always will.
Color is the only thing that can be different and appealing to each of us.
I will base my 2 pup decision on what Steve Marshall's sound is. He may well enjoy the dual H bongo. I haven't heard a better bass line or tone since he got the bongo.
He is a player and he was getting it done with the SR5 he was playing just as good as he does with the Bongo. It amounts to a personal choice. That is all.
Nothing is really personal if you let anyone of us talk you into anything.
IMHO and mine only I know.
