I recently got a Green Crunch Lab and Purple Liquifire combo for a project guitar of mine. I love those retro colors!!

Anyway it got me thinking...have fellow EBMM owners ever switched out their stock pups for some colorful DiMarzio goodness?

Never made the jump to the coloured ones but I think they look killer. Like the old Ibanez's 770's I think????

Many of the older UV's/JEM's had great hardware/body colors. And the 770's too.

Let's see a pic!! I'd love to see what that looks like in your JP!

Unfortunately my project guitar is an Ibanez RG. I always liked how it played so I wanted to beef up the sound and visuals. They sound awesome and look great, although the green on the Crunch Lab isn't as bright as it is on the Evolutions.
I would post pics but I don't want to break any forum rules.

If BP happens to read this I would be interested to know if they have ever tried any creative color installations in the past. Since making this thread I thought of a couple of combinations which I think would look great.
Even something a simple as plain white JP BFR with Pink/Purple zebras and gold hardware would look killer imo.

Ah, I thought you put them in one of your JPs.

I for one would love to put black/purple dimarzios in my JPX. but my local dealer doesn't have them, nor is friendly about making a special order.

I did a swap on my JP a while back - Air Norton & Steve's Special, black/yellow. I have gone back to the originals, but might swap the others in again

Looks great! Did you consider any other colors or were you always set on white?
I considered putting Chrome Covered P.U.s in, or red/white, or red/creme or Black/red, and I almost ordered red/yellow, but white just seemed to click! if i had photoshop skills i might have come up with something more original, but I love the way it looks! also i stuck with the LF, CL combo, I think these, and the Axis buckers are perfectly matched to their respective models!

I didn't read this until after I purchased my set but I believe you can order directly through DiMarzio to get any color combination you want.
From their FAQ:

Can I get a special color combination on a humbucker, such as blue and violet?
Yes, but be sure to specify which color goes toward the neck and which goes toward the bridge.

Very cool...any full body pics?

I love the multi colored pickups Dimarzio offers. I really like the 80's neon options. Like Steve Vai has in his acrylic guitar.

I would love to see some JP's in the vein of those 80's Vai/Gilbert Ibanez guitars.

Colour what?

From Dimazrio.com's FAQ

"My local music store had the pickup model that I wanted, but it was in a color that doesn't go with my guitar. I bought it anyway. Can I exchange it for the color I want?
If your DiMarzio® single-coil-size pickup has a replaceable plastic cover, you can order a replacement cover in the color you want.

"Right model, wrong color" does not qualify for a free exchange, which is intended only for performance issues. However, if you are a U.S. resident, if the pickup package is still factory sealed, if the pickup is of current production and if the color you wish to return is one of our standard or stock colors, we can exchange it for a non-refundable inspection and shipping fee of $10. Please obtain a return authorization number as directed in the question just above this one and enclose a U.S. Postal money order with the returned pickup. No other form of payment is acceptable for a color exchange. If after inspection we determine that the pickup package has been unsealed or that the pickup has been installed or otherwise is not in factory-new condition, the pickup will be returned to you and will not be exchanged."
