Lookin for a new combo amp for home/studio use... Preferably something that will not make my wife divorce me or have my neighbours leave flaming bags of dog doo on my front stoop but something that still packs a punch. I'm a tone freek, but what MM player isn't, and play mostly funk at the moment, that is when I'm not playing funk. The GK 400RB-IV/210 looks promising as do some of the Edens, but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Markbass are very, VERY popular around here. Favoured amp of a lot of the guys on the forum - reason being that the sound they give isn't coloured - so what you hear is the sound of YOUR bass. The guy who makes them used to make EB amps a while back (guys, please slap me if I'm wrong), so it really is a match made in heaven!

The GK with the 1001 and 2x12 is very nice as is the 2x10 Markbass - EBMM match in heaven (ie KILLER tone). I had a Eden Metro for a short while and it sounded nice but was too compressed. I also have/had some SWR combos (currently I still have a Silverado Special 2x12) which aren't bad but have lost "something" since the Fndr takeover.

You're right, but I'll slap you anyway if you want me to...;)

I tried the Mark Bass CMD 102P-combo in a shop the other day and it was just fantastic. A marvelous ampflier. It's small, weighs next to nothing (44lbs/20kg), and really packs a punch. And the VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Preshape Filter) -filters are extremely useful and they shape the sound in a natural fashion. These amps are a near perfect match for Musicman basses. Hhmm, who have said that before?

I have the Carvin BRX212 combo. I absolutely love it, for EVERY reason, but you might have to deal with burning feces.... this thing is powerful as hell.

I have an Eden DC112XLT. It sounds great in almost all settings and just kills with my Stingray and Ric. It's the WT330 version and is plenty loud enough for most of my band situations now. My biggest gripe is it's really HEAVY.

I bought a Markbass as a result of some feedback from this side of the forum. I got a good price on the eBay for a CMD121H Combo. One of my issues was that is had to be light - due to a dodgy back! It is the best amp I have had in a long time - it is so light and makes the house rumble (when the neighbours are out!). I am a total fan of Markbass gear now - just got to save up for an EBMM now!;)

Dude...you're in Italy. Therefore you should have MUCH easier access to Markbass than the rest of us.

And certainly easier access to Markbass than to PJB.

The answer is obvious....

I have an idea, price comparison of the two: Here Vs. USA. :D Out of curiosity
How much are these two in the USA?
PJB Briefcase or Markbass Mini CMD 121P
I've seen the Briefcase online for about $570. Haven't seen the MarkBass online anywhere.
