I'm from Indiana originally but...up here "The State of Hockey" they are crazy about it. It does not look like they will be playing anytime this season.
I am a HUGE fan of hockey....we have an AHL team here and I try to go as much as possible. I have a bunch of friends who play and what not. I wish it was on now, but, they (NHL) brought this upon itself again. Huge salaries and no money being made makes for a tough business......hope we get back on the ice soon though....
What I don't get is this: Some players are in Europe playing for 100,000 bucks when they could be playing here for a million. If it's about money...why are they doing that? I miss hockey now but I know It's REALLY gonna hurt during playoff time.
OoooWeee, I'm glad someone started this up...not much action though...anyway I'm not here to post my thoughts or feelings, but if there are any Red Wings fans out there, I have some interesting pics I could email...something about a Lockout Party
Well, officially the season is cancelled. That's too bad. Millionaire's crying about a salary cap while peeps like me don't come close to making 10% of a bench warmer....
I think dudes playing in Europe just miss playing. However, for 100,000, they could play for that here....my opinion.
Pro sports is the most overpaid profession in my opinion....
I remember feeling this way when basketball players were locked out in 98-99.
They ended up working things out and playing a 50 game season, but it felt way too short. Hockey was planning a 28 game season if they coulda worked things out.
I shake my head at the kind of money pro athletes make, but for most it's in the 1-3 million range. And plenty of actors, musicians, models! make that.
