Sorry guys...I'm sure this has been asked before, but I did a search and didn't come up with an answer.

When did EBMM start using the compensated nut on basses? I was at my local GC on Saturday and saw a "new" SR5 H and Sterling H without compensated nuts and it made me curious.

OT...sat down and played a Bongo 4 HH...because they didn't have a 5er...very nice...saving my money and looking forward to being able to choose between the Bongo and Sterling 5.

You can't fight the bongo... trust me... just give in now and save yourself from sleepless nights of wondering why you haven't got a bongo yet.

The compensated nut appeared on the BoNgo Bass in 2003. The other Basses seem to have followed in 2004 (or early 2005).

The Basses you saw may have been in the store for a year or so. Or perhaps they were fretless Basses which don't have the compensated nut.

Can the compensated nut be fitted on an older bass? Does it have the same dimensions as the original ones?
