Hey Guys,

I'm interested in knowing what artists have concerts on DVD or video that feature the bass player playing a MusicMan (preferably a Stingray). All I got are both live concerts of Sade and the DVD compilation of her music videos that feature Paul S. Denman who has always been seen playing a Pre-EB MusicMan.

Any suggestions?

Well, I was watching The Nutty Professor and noticed that as the comedian starts to walk out in the club, you see a guy in the back with a StingRay 5.

Anyone else notice that?

Both Peter Gabriel concerts, featuring Mr. Levin hisownself playing his famous Barbie-flesh pink SR5. The earlier one (Secret World Live) is the better of the two.

If you do check out Secret World Live, be sure to watch the extras...there's a funny Spinal Tap reference in the interview with PG. But watch the concert first...if you watch the interview first, it'll ruin it 'cause you'll be laughing so hard.

Ah yes,

Peter Gabriel/Tony Levin, thanks for reminding me. I only have his latest release compliation of videos. It has extras with a live performance, but no where near Secret World. Man, I let that one slip. Some fan I am!

SR5 Spotting Confirmed.

Andrew,

You have good Stingray radar! I need to hone mine in a little better. A Stingray 5 it is, a good ol' fashioned Natural with Black pickguard. :)

Shame on you! Secret World was my first conscious introduction to The To-Knee (I had of course heard his work before, but didn't know who he was), and to the coolness that is EBMM.

It's a must-own DVD.

Tom Hamilton was sporting Stingrays starting back in '77, and he used one in the video for 'Chiquita' if I remember correctly. In fact, his Stingray from the 'Live Bootleg' album photos was the first one I had ever seen.

I remember thinking 'what a cool bass'...a year before I even picked up the bass!

Any Aerosmith footage from '77-'79 would probably feature Tom playing a Ray.

I'm going to see Aerosmith next month in Dallas. I'll be on the lookout for any MMs that Tom might play.

That was a long time ago...Tom's switched up a bunch since then, especially with his penchant for old Fenders and Beatle basses.

Still, let me know if he sports a Stingray.
