Help! Confused?! and I own one! BFR jp6 koa.

As far as I know, EBMM did a limited run of Koa's and Cherry Burst (but not Cherry burst?) with the chrome hardware, with the Island Burst.

The Koa I got, if you remember, has gold hardware and the Island Burst as well. It said Island Burst on the packing slip.
Though if you look on the Music-Man website and read the Koa stats, it says it's Honey Burst.
Honestly they look the same to me.
I think it's both safe to say Koa is beautiful regardless of everything else!

As for your question, about the fingerboard, that's beyond me.
I just know I love the feel of Ebony and Stainless Steel frets!

but if you did in fact pay for koa and that's not what you got, you'd better get on the horn with GC because there's a huge price difference!

It looks to me like an Island burst quilt top BFR, but just going by the pics. Lovely guitar you have there!
