Hello everyone. I've never owned a MusicMan bass, and I've played one but a handful of times. I need to be able to play the widest variety you can imagine in my band. I also help front the band, and I sing alot, so ease of playablility is very important. I'm considering a Sterling, and would very much value the objective opinions of other professionals. Let me know your thoughts. Many Thanks!

Sterling

The Sterling is great bass for most styles of music. With 3 band EQ you can pretty much dial in all sorts of tone, from low end growl to hi-fi snap. I love mine. As far as playability goes it's one of the sweetest necks you'll find.

I love Sterlings. My first Musicman bass was a Stingray. I moved to the Stingray 5 after that. But now, two Sterlings later, my number 1 bass is a Sterling! I would think if you are singing, the Sterling would be a perfect choice. I find the neck to be much faster than the other two models. It's also a more comfortable bass with the smaller body and sculpted heel. Believe it or not, my current Sterling is a much bolder sounding bass than any of my past Stingrays.

Yeah Dub, I own a 92 SR5 too and it was my main bass for a long time. A friend recommended a Sterling...so I tried one on for size and had to have one. Great all-round bass!!!
