I've been looking at it and looks like a really good guitar for me, is it any good?

Also, can the trem pull up sufficiently?

P.S: Talking about the Y2D

I think the trem is mounted flush to the body on the Morse model.

As far as I'm aware, the only guitars that come setup from the the factory to raise pitch are the Luke and the Pet.

"is it any good?"

answer: I have a morse y2d with floyd and out of all my other morses, the y2d kicks butt!!
to be honest this is actually the most comfortable guitar i have ever played or owned, that actions sweet, pretty low for me! :) and the pickups! they pack a punch!

"Also, can the trem pull up sufficiently?"

answer: no it does not pull up

i have some good close up pics of my y2d here if its any help.

I think you can set up the Y2D to not be flush against the body, right? Because I've seen videos of Morse pulling up on his. If you watch the Live In Montreux 2006 of him playing Highway Star (It's on YouTube) he's definitely pulling up on it.

The Y2D is a phenomenal guitar just like all EB's. It is designed specifically for the artist, yet us mere mortals can buy it. Just like the artists. The only difference, the artists can play better......well...better than me at least.

I picked up the Y2D at the SLO Open House and was just blown away by it. I am a JP player...but, the Y2D can certainly fit in very well.

I believe he has a Mose with a routed body so he can pull up on the Floyd. But the production ones have the trem sitting flush on the body.

You could probably let it float forward a tad if you wanted to pull up.

As described, both the Morse and the Y2D flat out rock.

Morse/SUB1 players, I have a question for you. How to the bodies of the guitars compare? There does not seem to be any contours on the body of the Morse guitars. I own a SUB1 and I would have to say that the lack of contours on the body would be my only complaint with it. Do you guys feel the Morse guitars are more comfortable for the wrist than the SUB1, or are they pretty similar? Steve has a much different style of picking than I do. So what feels natural to him may not be that way to me.

Well that's the way steve morse prefered the body with no contours being a tele player in the past...As for me no complaints here i think it's very comfortable and it's my favorite guitar of all EBMM i have owned..I have not played many SUB1 so i can't relate.

Did you ever play a Tele? It has also no contours.
The Morse is more comfortable than a Tele, because the body is smaller and the edges are rounded very well. So for me - no problem!

You know, I haven't played Teles much at all. I did have a Strat for many years.... until I found the Silo. ;) So, if I try out a Tele and find it comfortable, the Morse should not be a problem getting used to?

I would think so. For me - to be honest - my Tele is sometimes a bit awkwardly shaped (mainly because of the sharp edges). But I have NO problem with the Morse.

On the other hand it is very subjective, as some players here say, they are not comfortable with Morse/SUB.

Btw. I think here are a lot more AXIS-owners than Morse-owners. AXIS´ don´t have a arm-contour too and no one seems to have a problem with it ;)

I read your post accurate. I think I remember, that I read somewhere, that the Morse and SUB shape is the same. But I can´t verify, because never played a SUB. The Morse does not have any contours
