I just had a lesson with a new teacher - nice guy - great player. He happens to be the national sales manager for a "high-end" bass maker. He started talking about his basses and then asked what I brought. Out pops my DG Bongo 4HH. He took it for a spin and declared "damn - that's a great bass!".

I plan on taking lots of lessons and I will drip EBMM goodness on him until he wants one for his own!!!

Hey Squid - long time no talk. How you doing? Great to hear you are fully on the Musicman train.

All EBMM for me now days. 11 of them!!! Not a loser in the bunch. I wasn't a fan of the Bongo (the looks got to me) until I put one in my hands. Can't pry one out of my hands now!!

Hope to see you around this forum more.

Peace.

Those bongo's are just flat out amazing. I showed my guitar player one in GC not too long ago and he looked at it and said "if you get that, dont ever bring it to a gig." I then plugged in and played away. After that he still didnt love the looks, but he couldnt get over how huge it sounded. Cant wait to get my 07 LE.

I've - shockingly! - been known to purchase the occasional non-EBMM bass and trot it out at rehearsal. My bandmate Brian really wants me to play a more traditional looking bass. Hey, he's aware, let us say, of appearances.

So we go through this bass and that bass and he gets this look on his face. "Well, it doesn't sound like a Bongo, does it?"

No, it doesn't. And relatively quickly, off it goes, and he's happier.

He doesn't want to admit it, but he is.
