Well I've ordered almost all the components, 2 Dimarzio virtual vintage PAF's
CGE pots, Tortoise HH pickguard, 3 way toggle. The only thing left is to
order a molar connector from Customer service so I can switch back to the
original setup if needed. I'll post picks showing the steps of the process,
hopefully with sound clips!! If this project comes out half as good as I know
it will I'll add a hum in the bridge of my Trans. orange AL. I really respect
everyones opinion here so any suggestions, tips, ideas, etc. will be greatly
appreciated!!

Have a great day!!

Yes, please report back with how this goes. I too have been thinking of getting a used spare AL for this very same 'operation.'

I'm not sure if anyone's ever heard of Melancon Guitars, Gerard melancon used to
do all the repair/setups for a few buddys of mine and myself when we were in need. I'm gonna get him to do it when I get in the pickguard. One of our sound
guys builds cabinets and P.A. speakers, he's got the routing templates to do hums (thats plan B)

I'm wondering if it'd be easier for me to be looking for a used AL with MM90's??? That'd cut down on the routing work I'd think.

I'm gonna do 2 hums no single, I really want the straight up
humbucker sound. I'm gomma put a hum in the bridge of my
trans orange Al. I love the versatility of my Silo sp. thats what
gave me the idea to do the trans. orange.

sounds like a kick ass idea actually, at first thought it seemed like a dumb idea, but i would love to have a bridge humbucker on one of my AL's, i may sacrifice one in the future and get the work done on it. maybe no 10 Albert can get a humbucker!

with the m90s...it almost feels like a hummer on the bridge!!!

i cant wait to see that project when it is done!!

Not sure about this - but wth - it's your baby and I look forward to seeing it.
Just a word of warning from someone who did this almost 30 years ago - I installed a middle hum in my Les Paul. Now all this time later - I wish I'd left it stock.

I hear ya' spud. I don't use this Al as much as the other one,
and my silo, its darker sounding. So, with that said, I figured I'd
change it up, to something I really wanted.

I sure will!! I'm having issues getting a pickguard within a
reasonable time.
dojo,
the hot rails, or Jr's don't have enough fullness, check out
the virtual vintage sound clips on the Dimarzio website.
they sound amazing! I've pretty much got everything in so
far, just waiting on the stuff that I bought form EBMM and
a freakin' pickguard!
