I called EBMM today to find out the availability of some parts for my Silo Spec. During my conversation I asked about my color, flat black. I haven't seen that on many ebmm's. He said that was never a production color for any silo and then asked for the serial number. After looking it up He told me that my guitar was originally custom made for Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and is the only flat black silo spec that he is aware of. I'm not a Good Charlotte fan, but my kids like them. I just thought it was kind of cool, and it explains all of the bumps, bruises, wear and tear-it's definitely been played. I've had it about 6 months and played it a ton too. Love it. Just thought I'd share.

Just wondering, how did you get ahold of the guitar? you gotta think some one out there would pay a pretty penny for that

That is a cool story! I have a similar story with my Purple Pearl Silo Spec. From what EBMM told me from my SN is that mine was issued to one of the touring guitar players for Nsync / Brittany Spears during their hay day. Maybe that explains when I got it it had purple pickups and pink knobs and all the road wear. =)

sorry bout that.. I am well of awair of the rules.. no pic no guitar! well here is the only pick I could find shortly after i got it. By this time I removed the purple neck / middle pickup covers for some white ones I had laying around and took off the pink knobs as well.

Here is how she looks today with a few more tweaks.

The guitar has a lot of wear and tear all over it just not come out in the photo. This guy was my main guitar for just about 2 years.. Now she sits #2 as the AL HH has taken over #1. But still a fine guitar by all means!

I finally got around to getting some pics of my silo special. I couldn't really show all of the wear and tear-the camera just couldn't pick up all of the road rash. It really is the kind of guitar that elevates my playing and I just cant put it down.
The knobs are my addition...but none of the rash is...the pickups were unlabeled, my guess is a previous owner removed the originals. I added a Tone Zone and an Area 61 and an Area 58. I have an SSS pickguard on order from EBMM.
