I can testify to that Volt. When I first heard that tune in 1989, on the local Jazz station, I instantly knew who it was. IMHO, that whole album is truly anointed...............
Yep, that album is one of my favorites of his........and I think I have nearly all of his albums. Lot's of good blues riffs on it. I'm trying to learn (and be able to play up to speed) two from "All In Good Time", and one from his version of "Layla".

+1 on the opeth, nevermore and pantera (especially the opeth) but one look at the sig and i gotta go with the last couple of minutes of white walls by between the buried and me. but seriously, its near impossible to have a single fav band so picking a riff is totally impossible

Kansas - "Carry On Wayward Son" - the part after the second chorus; one of the absolute coolest riffs ever and it takes the whole band to pull it off.

"Don'tcha cry no more" - NO! BAM! There it is....

It is one of those "in the moment" feels -

Dream Theater - Finally Free (most dramatic one)

Soilwork - Nerve

Fear Factory - Replica

Opeth - Ghost of Perdition

etc.

Solo section. Can't You Hear Me Knockin' by The Rolling Stones. Mick Taylor. Very cool playing. :)

And, the song still makes my top 10 list for tunes I've owned on vinyl, cassette, cd, etc. etc. etc. :D:cool:

Dream Theater - The Dark Eternal Night

My current ringtone.

So many riffs. So little time.

A few faves in addition to the many mentioned:

Dream Theater - Constant Motion
Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
VH - House of Pain
JP - Damage Control
SRV - Couldn't Stand the Weather
Led Zep - The Ocean
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Backwoods, My Lovely Man, Stone Cold Bush, Suck My Kiss
The Who - Eminence Front, Won't Get Fooled Again, Bargain,

Even though it was mentioned already, I've got to say Extreme's Cynical is one of my faves as well.

ZZ Top, The Grange, right after the drums come in. That's one of my ringtones, and it always gets a nod from whoever's nearby.
