Oh BP what a post :) As one of the struggling members who had their bass (and a guitar!) saved I am incredibly thankful for this place and everything you do for us. These are two people with defective dentistry who have nothing but admiration and respect for everything you have achieved and the way you strive to move forwards. I know I'm not the only one who is always excited to see what the end result will be!

I hope you can make it to the UK Knucklehead bash so that I can give you a big hug and say thank you for everything you do for us in person. Until then we will show our gratitude by continuing to NOT PM you :D

Every time we look up at our guitars we smile and think about what you, your company and this forum have made possible. It's compounded all the more every second we spend in the home that ultimately the people here are responsible for.

As others have said, there isn't a company in the world like EBMM or another CEO like you - which is why you've got two customers for life here. Please continue to deign to talk to us Knuckleheads - there's nowhere else on the Net that can make me laugh and cry (albeit sometimes with laughter) in such measure!

One soppy Azzy :)

Thanks for the warm

Hey Big Poppa,

Earlier today as I was getting started, I accidently hit a wrong key and landed on another manufacturer's website and on the home page there was a link to a "forum" and I got to wondering what that place would be like and who could possibly make it a place where I'd want to go ... of course I was referencing to here in my mind and a few min later I noticed your 10,000th post, and them I recalled the day just after I'd seen my first ever SR4 ( trans teal)(just pre-Sterling intro, release)in a store window here in Vancouver, and I found the EBMM phone nbr in a guitar magazine buyer's guide isue and called SLO to ask about getting an SR4 here in Vancouver and the nice lady who answered the phone suggested I consider a new Sterling and passed the phone over to you, I recall asking about an SR4 with a rosewood board and you immediately suggested maple and that I consider crossing the line to visit a major retailer in WA state .... the hippest thing about the call was that it was you who took the call although you had lots better things to do than talk with a Canadian wannabee ... so, the point is, Thanks for throwing us a line and helping us rise a bit to your level, especially right here at the EBMM Home Campfire, it's *YOU* who makes this a special place to be and who leads us in the sharing of humanity among ourselves ... if there's a sense of "family" around here it's because you adopted us as your ownKnuckleheads
and treated us like family... the world, let along cyberspace can be cold and tough, but you have showed us the warm and the style and taken very good care of us on all of our days, good and not so good,
As always, Thanx a LARGEBUNCH, BIG Poppa ...for sharing and caring:)
and always breaking new ground...
ATB,
/PL:)

helpful and amusing, sometimes just a quick browse to make the day better or cure some bordom whenever...definitely more fun than the forum discussing the Porsche water cooled front engine 4 bangers I'm so fond of...i'd probably have 10 times more post if i had a computer at work :D

A lot of very interesting iformation here in the past three years. BP is the most candid business owner I've heard in public. He talks the talk, but sure walks the walk.

First thanks sterling for setting up the forum and then taking the time to talk to us Knuckleheads even though we sometimes upset his apple cart, I have enjoyed the ride and hope the trip lasts for a lot more years to come.

Very cool to see an owner with a 10,000 posts. You defy the odds and actually interact with the customers. We truly respect you for that. I love your posts on the history of the company. Your grasp of the music manufacturing business is amazing. Keep the posts coming.

Just a few short months ago, I wouldn't have thought it possible that I could come to appreciate EBMM basses any more than I already did & had for years and years. But now, even after such a short time here at the forum, it's a whole new ballgame. All the things we talk about and share here, and all the unspoken things exchanged and observed, have added vast new dimensions to my experience of these instruments.

And regarding the company ... one word ... Integrity. I was watching a documentary the other day called "The Corporation", which talked about, among other things, how corporations are now the largest and most powerful social and economic institution of our time, and how many U.S. corporations grossly abuse the legal definition and standing (in terms of rights) of actual "persons", literally afforded to them under the 14th Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution. A really interesting parallel was drawn in which they said, well, since corporations have the legal standing and rights of persons, let's let an FBI psychological profiler/consultant do a quick psychoanalysis of some of the bad ones - the ones who abuse those rights and honor none of the responsibilities or accountabilities of a person, to the detriment of everyone and everything their business processes adversely affect - the "externalities" of their existence. Turns out, in far too many cases, our most powerful social institution has been created in the image of a psychopath.

While I agree with that, I know that there are, however, alot of good corporations, in terms of the integrity and moral repsonsibility with which they conduct their business.

"Yeah, yeah, what's he on about," right? The point is, with respect to where you are on that spectrum, I've been SO impressed with what I've seen and discovered here in these past few months, BP, and that's a huge part of why I'm even more stoked to be an EBMM player/lover/enthusiast/knucklehead. Hats off to you, Sir! Best wishes to you, your family and your company, for continued vision, innovation, influence and success!

Robert
