Tone King, the Axis is only available with humbuckers. You can get an Axis Super Sport with MM90's, but it's not available with a floyd. The tuning stability of the vintage tremolo on the Super Sport is well worth checking out, if that's the desired quality in the floyd.

I had a Silo Special that I regretfully sold and it had the vintage trem. Although it was'nt bad, I just like the feel of a Floyd the way my hand rests on it.

How hard would it be to modify one with a Floyd? I wonder how off the posts would be. I should've checked when I had both my Axis and Silo at the same time:mad:

Might be easier to go the other way....change your Axis pups to humbucker-sized P90s. Dimarzio Bluesbuckers are a good apporximation, and require no surgery. Seymour Duncan Phat Cats are true single coil P90s, but require a little removal of the wood in the pup cavities.

All that said, EBMM uses ash for the MM90-equipped ASSs. I guess they don't think basswood is all that great for the soapbars. I tried both the pups above in basswood+maple guitars, and whil not bad, the MM90 ASS blew them away.
