Im new here so a shout out to all bass enthusiasts here and the ernieball mm staff.

Anyway here goes... I used the search tool on the forum and couldnt get any answers... my questions are regarding the sr5hh and the 30th anniversary limited edition package. Will there be any sr5hh available with the all gold hardware black pickguard package and sweet case. i saw some picks steve dude barr posted of a regular sr and that red is awesome. and the all black means black pg on black body...

a sr5hh would kill in that red (matching hs) i mentioned earlier with black pg and all gold hardware... any chance on any of these being made or ordered...

Might just be my take on it but I tihnk you are confusing two different LTD packages. The all gold hardware/black thing is the 2006 LTD package (i tihnk thats the right year :p). The red stingray is the 30th anniversary stingray.

To expand a bit...there are indeed two different things going on here: Limited Editions and Anniversary Editions. Not the same thing at all.

AFAIK what makes a Ltd. Ed. is the finish. Any EBMM guitar or bass can be ordered in a Ltd. Ed. finish. This year it's black/black, with gold hardware. Last year it was buttercream. And so on. I don't know how long this has been going on, or if it will continue. Ask the boss.

The red bass you refer to is a Stingray 4 built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the original Stingray. Anniversary editions are not about paint...they're a whole different animal. The 30th is made of different wood (mahogany), with a birdseye-maple neck, and is only available in that trans-red color. Naturally, since the only instrument to be having a 30th birthday this year is the SR4, that's the only bass available built like that. (Though I'd kill for a Bongo built that way...there was one made for the open house last year.)

A similar thing was done for the 20th anniversary Stingray, though the details differed (figured maple top over a mahogany body, IIRC).

It might interest you to know that 2007 will be the 20th anniversary of the SR5. No announcement has been made about whether there will be a 20th anniversary SR5 offered, or if it is, what it might look like.

I only hope it's not Martini Olive green. :D
