Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forums.

I've been saving up for a while to get a JPX 7 and was curious if there is anyway to pay a premium to get the guitar in a different finish besides the metallic purple? I've seen some band guitarists such as Born Of Osiris's Lee Mckinney having a white JPX 7 with gold hardware, I also remember reading up on someone getting a tobacco sunburst style paintjob on their guitar custom after asking Mr. Ball himself in the forum.

I'd really love to see if I could get a JPX 7 in orange of any kind, it'd be my dream guitar and money isn't really an issue.

I understand if this may seem a bit audacious but I figured I'd take a step and try and see what's possible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Sorry man, not an option unless you a signed EBMM endorser.

The only other option is to get a used one and have it repainted by someone else in the color of your choice.

Hope this helps, Glenn |B)

Can't he get a JPX in a PDN sparkle select color? There are Emerald Greens to be had, and a Cardinal Red Sparkle can be ordered.

Razzle, he certainly can order a Cardinal Red Sparkle. Bass Central, The Perfect Bass and Willcutt guitars are the only 3 stores in the US that ordered JPX 7's in Emerald Green Sparkle.

Wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome to the forum!

Also just had an idea... could I order a JPX without a finish and then resubmit it to be painted and pay the cost to get it painted and ask for tangerine pearl? I mean that's probably a roundabout way but would it be possible?

Chris, it's highly doubtful. Your best recourse is to buy a used one and then have it refinished by someone in your area. There have been people whom have done it and they get what they want. Plus buying it used your getting it cheaper than buying a new one.

Best of luck. Glenn |B)

Thanks that does sound like a good idea, however I worry about the quality of the fit and finish if someone else did it and not an ernie ball specialist, I'd also lose the headstock logos if it was refinished. :(

True, but if you found one that had an unfinished headstock, then that would be a moot point.

As for fit and finish, there are lot of excellent painters out there and you could always shop around for a painter who specializes in painting or repainting guitars. There is a guy here that had a AL HH repainted in a blue sparkle and there weren't any issues.

Good luck, Glenn |B)

One last question, sorry guys!

Couldn't I order a JP7 regular since it comes in tangerine pearl, and request the neck be painted to match? :0

Again, it becomes a special order and if you aren't an endorser or an artist in their roster it's probably not going to happen. You could just get a JP in the Tangerine with the unfinished neck, those are best in my opinion next to the roasted necks.

Sorry, hope it helps, Glenn |B)
