I’ve been looking at these basses a lot, this treatment works so well on the Bongo shape. Kill me, but I think all Bongos should evolve to this scheme, it’s a perfect fit. I think this ties in with the futuristic, cutting edge vibe the Bongo is all about. At least I’d like to have this as a paid option, it seems like a natural progression and looks so damn good!

Don’t get me wrong I love the Bongo’s I already have and Beaver has another one that I may just have to make mine, but this is what was missing. There would have never been the toilet seat jokes if they looked like those two beauties! :D

change your name and move next door to the bass player.. then watch when ups comes to deliver the basses and claim the adress must be messed up :D

i think that will be your best shot, unless you can afford to pay for complete factory shutdown while they make your basses ;)

I posted the photos over on TB and most people are making very positive noises about the design.

"It looks right."

That sort of thing.

it would make a great limited edition bass, maybe 08?

It would have to work for all the instruments, I think. I mean, we've already seen it work amazingly on the Bongo. I think the only other instrument I actually see this working on is the AL...

Speaking of LEs, I have a question of BP while I'm on the subject, and maybe this actually needs to be posted in the guitar section. Will the BFR lines have an LE finish (like some wild dragonburst finish on all BFRs only for next year) of their own, or can we generally refer to all of those as LE in their own right?

Derek...It had nothing to do with Brian ken and I in florida having coronas......I challenged him to play a bongo

Thats right!

I remember the trip you guys took to Miami to see the guys on our stage!

Further to the color scheme, might have something to do with Ken's birthday on the last day in october.....

Sorry for the delay on the response. I havent been on in a few days as we were cranking on launching the battle of the bands site and the Ernie Ball webstore...

This design was all Ken's idea. He will chime in here in a little bit, but we are both huge football fans and his squad is the Steelers. He wanted a bass that reflected the steeler colors and asked if we could do black border / outlines around the color (not a burst)...Ken was born on halloween, hence the orange one....

The entire MM team nailed it, and Ken called me practically crying last week. (very happy man)

Very cool! It would be cool to have some sort of two tone finish available on all EB basses as an upcharge.

My opinion - the yellow bongo is the best bongo I think I've seen ....
how about a production run?

Old, thread but I'm new here :)

That yellow Bongo is it! Please don't be afraid to offer this on any bongo. This could be revolutionizing the normal thought-process of finish selection! I'd buy one if they were available.
