Hi Guys.I just noticed that one of my prized axis sports has a bb sized*hole *in the finish that goes right to the wood.I*m amazed at how thick the finish is....almost seems plasticized.Fortunately its in a black area,so paint match will be easy...have any of you done a successful patch job,and what did you use as filler..without collateral damage to the rest of the guitar.

On one of my guitars I used black nail varnish then cut it back using micro mesh.

The concept of using super glue is a good un too , but leave a micro crater in the super glue to enable you to apply some colour so it will cut back.

Really keen to hear suggestions, or official guidance from EBMM on that one.

Is micro mesh good for a small scratch that annoys? Easy to buff out? Got one too and it bugs me.

I don't tend to apply abrasive paper to scratches, only to flatten repaired areas or big chips.

T-Cut and a lot of elbow grease - significantly more than you expect - will get scratches out and do so cleanly.

I fill holes in clear with superglue, 1500 grit sandpaper and T-Cut.

Well I guess it depends on the depth of the scratch. But micro mesh goes "down" to a ridiculous fine grade and would prolly do you proud.

Take a look at this thread

- the only problem with T cut is that it does leave a very fine haze due to it's (fine) abrasive properties. Even Farecla G3 leaves a fine haze. Guitar scratch remover leaves no haze at all but does require a lot of Elbow grease.
A few knuckleheads have used it and reported\good results to me.

Take a look at the link to my JP6 in my thread - I talk from experience ha! :)

I've tried T-cut, micro mesh, Farecla, Meguiars etc etc and the only thing that worked well for me was that GuitarScratchRemover stuff Spud introduced us to. That said, if you can feel the scratch with a fingernail running over it then it wont come out by these methods...
