Cutlass CT50+ Tremolo

Hi,
I'm new to guitar playing (decades of playing bass) and tried inserting the tremolo bar to my CT50+ bridge and just want to make sure I'm doing it right. For whatever reason, the bridge doesn't feel like its grabbing onto the knob at the end (note that this is not a screw threaded tremolo bar like other guitars). At the same time, the cavity itself is really snug, so I've just been pushing the bar as far in as it will go.

All seems fine, but I want to make sure I'm not damaging anything in the hole where the tremolo goes.

Does anyone have any experience with this guitar and can walk me through it?

Look at the bottom of the tremolo block, where the strings go it. Is there a small grub screw under neath the trem bar? If there is try back it out and see if it makes a difference.

Yep, what DrKev said. And also there is a small 1.5 mm hex grub screw on the side of trem block which faces away from the neck. To get to it, insert the trem bar and dive bomb a lot and you’ll see the screw appear on the side of the trem block which is facing away from the neck.

I’m not sure if I understand the issue exactly. If you feel the trem bar won’t go in fully, then insert the trem bar as far as it will go, dive bomb and then loosen the 1.5 mm grub screw. Release dive bomb and fully insert the trem bar. Then dive bomb again and tighten the grub screw to taste.

Note: the CT50+ has all black trim but my trem bar came with a white plastic tip. I contacted the seller and they got the correct black tips trem bar from EBMM (or Sterling or whatever) and sent it my way. I do really like the Sterling CT+. It stays in tune the best of any of my EBMM’s (probably because of the thick neck).
