I love this release! I'm definitely picking one up soon, but, my ideal color combo is black with mint guard. Will it be possible for me to buy a mint guard to switch out? If not, can this combo be ordered through a dealer?

If not, I'll probably go white w/mint guard, but hoping there's an option.

Thanks!

You can buy aftermarket pickguards for these from Chandler/Pickguard Heaven. I don't know anything about dealers ordering them that way but you have an option to buy one.

I don't think there are ordering options. I think if you order the black Cutlass it comes with the white guard. Your dealer may be able to order an additional mint guard at a cost and swap it for you... Or you can go to one of the sites listed above and order which is probably what I will do when I pick up a Cutlass or Stingray.

Thanks for the replies It sounds like I'll have to try ordering from the site above if I decide on the black one.

That is correct, the new models have color specific fretboards and pickguards. Different color pickguards would need to be purchased separately, while fretboards are "married" to that color. eg The White, Black, and Chili Red finish come with a maple fretboard, while the Vintage Tobacco, Vintage Sunburst, and Turquoise come with a rosewood fretboard.

Bump.

Wondering if anyone has switched out their pickguard (or pickup covers) recently. I am currently deciding which Cutlass to buy, and would love to have a different pickguard on the one I purchase. I'm also interested in putting on different pickup covers and possibly control knobs. I'm leaning Charcoal Frost, and would love a white pick guard with parchment pickups and parchment or even possibly chrome dome knobs. In the chance I get an HSS I'd like to uncover the bridge humbucker too.

Anyone change up their Cutlass a bit? I'd love to see it. Thanks!

I have a Vintage Turquoise and thought about putting the tortoise pickguard that the Charcoal Frost comes with - photoshopped a picture to see what it would look like. May do that someday!!

Wow, I was looking at these and wondering the same thing yesterday about various pick guards. I love the tones of the Cutlass and with the Silent Circuit, it could replace my start. I'm personally not fond of any of the color choices, so I'll hold out for now. Maybe there's a cool BFR on the horizon for the Cutlass

Arrrg. That gold one has a rosewood neck. I'm a maple guy. Ebony sounds great too, but I don't dig rosewood these days.
