Question Cutlass silent circuit

I have two Cutlass's - a first year SSS and 2018 HSS Roasted. I believe the silent circuit may need a tweak on the SSS, it is indeed noisier than the HSS (aside from humbucker).

The question I have is - does adjusting the silent circuit have any other effect on the tone and/or output of the pickups? Thank you for your time.

No and no. It just subtracts noise from the signal as you adjust the potentiometer. As you adjust it you'll find the sweet spot where it's most effective.

Btw might be handy to mark the position you started in, just i/c you want to get back to however it was dialed in.

There's a little trim pot on the PCB mounted to the pickguard.
