I recently got the JR Cutlass 6 and this is both my first 24 fret and floating trem guitar. Once thing I noticed on the setup is that the string height lifts by 0.25mm past the 12th fret.
The neck is almost dead straight, just very small relief and the string height at 12th fret is 1.50mm Low E, 1.25mm High E. The trem is floating and sitting level to the body. Past the 17th the string height increases to 1.5mm for most of the strings and 1.75 for the low E.
Looking at all my other guitars - Valentine, Stringray, Les Paul, Strat they stay the same the whole length.
So do I have a setup issue or is this common with floating trem or 24 fret guitars? I really like the action below the 12th fret and whilst 1.5mm isn't considered high, it puts me off feeling it increase.
Thanks!
