Help! D.O.B. my Sub 1 please

Could you please help me find the D.O.B. for my Sub 1?

You are in the wrong room here pal. Take a look up to where it says serial numbers, and you will have to post the number. If you want you could also call CS.

Thanks straycat113, I don't mean to be contrary but are you sure I'm in the wrong place? My SUB1 is a Music Man guitar, and this is the Music Man Guitars forum isn't it?

I had read the post you mention, entitled "IMPORTANT: My Ernie Ball's Serial # is..." but that thread isn't for dating.

The OP specifically says, "Put DOB requests in a separate thread," so that's what I've done.

Thanks for the suggestion to call CS, but I don't know who or what that is, and I'm in the UK.

Anyway I guess I'll do as you say, but it seems like I'm ignoring the OP's instructions...

The Serial # thread is for finding the date of manufacture of the guitar. Someone from EB might post the DOB in this thread... maybe. But, they are very good about responding in the Ser# thread.

I agree with what you say and I raised this a while back - the original post does cause confusion doesn't it?

As the forum has evolved, the DOB question is now best placed in the serial numbers thread despite what it says in post#1

Thanks for your help, and the welcome. I have done as you suggest.

I know I'm new here, but I can't help thinking it would be helpful to people like me if the Serial# thread did a better job of explaining what it's for.

As it stands, the OP is all about stolen guitars and recording serials for reasons of identification in the event of a theft, and specifically says not to post DOB requests there.

Perhaps a quick edit could clarify things?

I'm a drummer and bass player, and bought this with good intentions but I'm an acoustic player at heart and I haven't got the Sub out of its case since I bought it.

I'm putting an eBay post together now to sell it, hence wanting the year of manufacture.
