Has anyone tried to use a D-Tuner on a 25th or Reflex? Just wondering if it works ok considering the piece of metal the strings go under (don't know the technical term).

Strummer has hit on the true solution: a 5 string bass! Genius!

FTR, I think a D tuner will work with the string retainer, which only applies slight downward force.

There is no reason not to put a D-Tuner on a 4stringer. You don`t have to drill any extra holes and you can put back the original tuner anytime you want. The string retainer has no (or almost none) effect on the downtuning as long as you avoid any dramatic angles
