I'm a solid "maybe." We'll see how much the flights are. I've asked for the time off from work, and it looks like it has been granted.

BTW is there going to be the possibility of getting a group rate on the rooms if we stay at the Hyatt? Do we know about that yet?

Not trying to clutter the thread, but does this place have a street address?

Those of us pushing wheel barrows could use that info.

:)

It would be great to know if we are going to be able to get a group rate so that we know if the rates we're getting on the net (e.g., Orbitz.com, or whoever) for those "flight + hotel" packages are worth it. I don't want to book too early through the net and find that I would have been better off waiting for news of a group rate, but I don't want to book too late and be left with nothing close by or nothing at all.

At the moment, I don't know what to do. Perhaps, I should just reserve a room just to make sure I have one. Then, figure out the rest later.

I don't know that I'd hold my breath for a group rate at the DFW Hyatt. That'd be nice, though.

Having worked at a hotel in the past, I can tell you that booking now doesn't preclude you from getting credit back if a lower rate is worked out. Of course that's only if you book directly through the hotel. Orbitz, et. al. won't let you change after you book.

Yeah. I was leaning towards just dealing with the hotel directly if I choose to stay at the Hyatt.

I booked w/ the hotel directly and they will drop the rate when the group thing is worked out. Got mine :) ...

No word yet. Maybe Monday. I don't expect the rate will drop much from what I hear, but I'm working on it.

Hmm...wondering if it would be worth the savings to stay at some other place. might just be a pain in the arse.

Hotels.com says $109 for Hyatt Regency as of 12:26am EDT on Sept. 19

Price seems like it's going down.

EDIT: Damn...I just tried it again and got $169 again.

I can't find anything under $169 either. I'm booked though. Should be worth it :) ...

Where's everyone staying? Any consensus yet? Jack, what panned out at that Harvey Suites place? Anyone manage to lock that $109 at the Hyatt?

So many questions!

That $109 is on hotels.com for the Harvey Suites.

I just booked the Hyatt directly on their site, on a AAA rate for $152.15 per night.

I just called and they asked if I was staying there for a special event. Is this listed under anything special? They did not recognize EB.

That rate sure looks attractive. I think I might have to stay there. Complimentary wireless internet too. One has to pay for the use of wireless internet access at Hyatt, correct?
