Hey,

All I am looking to do a test run on an Axis, I can not find one in stock at any of the retailers in either Dallas or Fort Worth, hoping that a fellow formite in the DFW area might be able to point me in the right direction, like knowing where a used one might be etc. Any help is always appreciated.:)

P.S. Thank You Pete for answering my P.M. and trying to help me. If I decide to pull the trigger I will be talking to you.

The problem, as I see it, with trying out a used one is that the guitar is set-up the way the last owner last had it set up. That may not be the way a new one comes from the factory. So, one might be misled to believe that the guitar sucks when, in fact, it's just the set-up that sucks.

Today I tried a used, otherwise very nice-looking Silo Spec in Medallion Gold with Moonstone (?) PG and matching headstock, maple fretboard. I hoped it was going to be like the brand new one I tried at Make N' Music in Chicago. Goodness me, oh my...The action was sky high, and the guitar would not stay in tune. I don't know what the story was there. I had to just quit and put it back on the hook. That brand new one that I tried last October was just fantastic. This one was much less so.

I mean, it's fine looking for a used one. Just make sure that you try a brand new one somewhere along the way.

Axis

Roburado,

You are so right about used, I really would want to purchase a new one,but if I could just find one to even pick up and see how it feels.
Guess I am just going to be patient and wait till the Dallas Guitar Festival comes around in April and hope that the EBMM booth has one there. But on the bright side I have my Luke to keep me company.

Axis in Dallas

There are two (Rosewood and Cherryburst) at the Guitar Center on 635 and maybe one at the GC on 75 in Dallas.

smallequestrian, thanks I have checked both stores inventory and been to both but did not find one, maybe I just missed it which is highly likely. Thanks for your reply,I will go back and look again.

The one on 635 has about 6 or 7 MM's. A couple JPs, a luke or two and the Axis. Seriously, they are all hanging form one of the columns in the middle of the store. Real hard to miss. There has been a constant nice group of them since Jack's party in November.

FYI, the store inventory checker is not always accurate, its up to the store itself to do that so YMMV.
