I recently had a guitar shipped to me with a damaged case, there is a tear of the material on the seam where the material meets together. I took it to an upholstery shop, they couldn't help me. Does anyone know where I could take to have it repaired? , or any advice?

Hey Billy - that's one heck of a tear and would indicate that the structural integrity of your case has been compromised. I feel that if you were to lift the covering and glue it back, then the damage would re occur?

You could try getting some contact adhesive under the tear (put masking tape either side of the tear to prevent an overspill of glue onto the covering). Press it down and use a flat piece of wood or the back of a wooden spoon to press the edges down. This is a technique I have used when applying tolex to a speaker cab. You could use some black wax to help mask the repair but it won't be a totally invisible fix. Let us know how you get on ?
