ouch, I´m sorry.

but...
- it´s on the back - no one will see
- if it´s the one you will keep, it doesn´t matter regarding resale value

a few times more and it looks like this

Hey Axel, are you kidding?
that is Steve Morse´s #1 which has seen about a million gigs, played for hours every day, refretted 8 or 9 times and travelled around the world for 23 years now... :D

Mine is like new :D

Sheeeesh !

...you got me on that one :D

I must admit that I haven't seen any pics of Steve's no. 1 yet, but guess what - I have tickets for the Deep Purple show in Munich in November, so presumably I'll see her in person soon

As cool as Steve's #1 is, I'm surprised that he or his guitar tech doesn't clean the dust and stuff from around the pickups. Maybe he's too busy playing it and traveling with it to even think about that. Or, he just needs a full supply of Wonder Wipes.

Sorry to hear about the damage - I scratched my car down the side - leaving work in a rush - I felt gutted - but I suppose I'll eventually get rid of the car - whereas I wont be getting rid of my guitar.
Consider using a black sharpie to go around the perimeter of your repair and I'll look even better.

Some people take care of their stuff like that... having read that Steve does alot of his own guitar tech-ing, modifying, etc., I wonder if he has a guitar tech.

Yeah it would be interesting, if he does his work himself aside from the touring business.

On the last Purple Tour in Germany, which was this year in August, I saw a big box of Wonder Wipes on the tech´s place :)
