I'm somewhat shocked there is ever a new thread at all on that site. Usually within the first three replies someone tells you in the most rude manner possible to use the search. I just mainly lurk here and at the Dudepit now.

TB just is what it is. I frequently disagree with how it's managed and even more frequently I disagree with the childish crap that goes on, but it's probably the biggest internet bass hang there is.

Some of my best friends are TBers. Ken and Joshua come immediately to mind as long time TB mods and you'd be hard-pressed to find nicer folks (who also post here and at the Pit).

It's easy to criticize, to find fault - and I do it, too - but the numbers there are just overwhelming. I wouldn't want to dream of moderating there.

We're insular here, and focused on one brand, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It was silly to delete Steve's photo thread, of course.

But sometimes moderating this one-manufacturer forum can be taxing (I don't need to mention names). Usually, it's easy and fun, but can any of you trying to keep that madhouse in line?

I do this for love. Why would you do it at TB? I just don't know, but I'm glad Ken and the other decent mods do it. There are others, of course......

Yeah Steve I almost wanted to do something like what you have here, with Owning a total to now 916 Basses and 512 being Music Man and the rest Pretty much Fender over my Life I thought it would have been cool to do detailed photos but I decided not to, it's bad enough now with People calling all the time with can I drop by and see some of these. Which i never keep them at the house to start with. One day l'll do a book im sure.

I've just kinda done the photo shoots as they've passed through Dave. I've now pretty much settled on one background and certain angles for each one. I get em in, shoot em, lick em, pack em back up and ship em out...you keep all yours!!

I went to the other forum for the first time in a year or so earlier this week to find the DD thread, read a couple of other threads, posted two or three times, but even with 50,000 members, that place feels empty. It's got no soul.
