I have just joined the ranks of Mr. Darling and Biker4Him - and purchased my third Dargie - a Bongo 4HS from BassCentral.
My DD Bongo 5HSP should be here next week.
By the way - my CAR Bongo4H is for sale in the For Sale thread.

Uh, better update that total, Bill....

Man, I am SO divorced!

Ritchie,

I feel obligated to offer you the couch if it comes to it.

There's a bathroom down here, and some closet space. The cat likes to drink out of the bathtub. The espresso machine is always ready. There are a bunch of bass amps in the studio, and the stereo runs through the PA.

It's not bad, really.

DD 2-Bander--Pleasant Surprise!

The UPS man just dropped off my DD 2-Band SR4 that I got through a VBTC order for which the original purchaser had to bail. Very late in the game I decided I wanted a DD, so when this 2 bander got cut loose, I was very happy to pounce on it without knowing any of the particulars, including if it even had a matching headstock.

I know something was up when I saw the model info. on the shipping box included the info: "unlined". Sure enough it was an unlined fretless. Well, I had wanted this one to be different from my other MMs & that was what I got! Coincidently, I had bought an unlined fretless Bongo 4 last year & that was what convinced me to later pick up a fretted Bongo 4 (2006 ltd. ed).

Tomorrow, I'll try to get a shot of my DD--I'm definitely loving it--simply amazing looking, playing, & sounding bass.

It does raise the question, though--of the 3 2band DDs, is this the only unlined fretless? Whatever, I'm green & proud of it, right about now. Off to thank the Dude! (thanks to BP & the DD namesake as well!!)

Kevin just emailed me to let me know that my Bongo HS4 left SLO on 27 March bound for the great southern land. I didn't ask if it went on a silver bird or on a Pacific cruise, but will now proceed to hound my dealer 24/7 :D

Boat rides are slow. Like being stuck in an endless school zone. I never want to be shipped by ship :)

Hang in there Mark. I know it has been tough on ya. Those DD green basses look so darn good at a gig.

Mark, hopefully it aint the only DD comin to Oz! Im busting for my skinny stringer!

Rob, I just got off the phone from Rick at CMC, and he says the shipment "contains several Dargies" and is expected to clear Customs and be at their warehouse tomorrow, which means dealers will have them by the end of the week. So, fingers crossed!

Oh, I have so much personal experience with this.

Not Princess Cruise Lines, either.

Anyhoo, glad to hear you upside-downers are scoring some Dargies!

Jack

You have been shipped by ship. LOL excuse the chuckle but that is funny to me.

The last boat I was on the danged bar wasn't open very long either.
