I didn't think I would be able to tough it out and wait for a DD, but I took the plunge anyway. I'm more of a "I want it now" kind of guy. I just have to keep telling myself that "good things come to those who wait".

Now here's the question, which one will you play? Hmmmmmmmm???

When the DDs show up - my inventory of EBMM will be at 6.

The good news is that when the DDs show up - deciding which I play won't matter. All will be in similar cases and I will just reach out and grab one ( or two) to take to gigs. I will be surprised by whatever I have on a gig and happy to know that whatever I grab, I will be thrilled by the sound of my basses.

Just received an email from my dealer .....

I have spoken to the Musicman Supplier and been advised that
this particular item was placed with Musicman U.S.A as a special order
and is due to arrive in Australia sometime in June 07. I will have a
better idea of when in June as the date gets closer

 :(

Australia has wonderful geographic advantages, too.

I wish someone could put several thousand miles of ocean between Texas and Oklahoma. You people in Tulsa and OKC don't really count, so pipe down.

Sometime after Beth clocks on in the morning I'll get a definitive response that I can forward to my dealer, but in the meantime I suggested to the dealer that he use his contacts within the system to check the scheduled production date for my order (since I know dealers have access to this facility). I also said that I believe, based on posts at the Ernie Ball forum, that initial stages of production for the DDs might have already commenced. Here's his reply ....

In response to your email I have again contacted the Australian Supplier of Musicman as we are not in touch with Musicman directly in the U.S. I have yet again been given an ETA of and I quote "sometime in June". I have repeated the need for an exact date, but this is as much as they will divulge.
I would suggest that most information on the Ernie Ball site is coming from people who don't necessarily know exactly when this particular bass will arrive, but if for whatever reason they do, please pass this onto me and I do my best to clarify it.

Mark, Beth is on vacation. We can't produce all the DD's at the same time. We only can make (X) number per week. The first run is starting to go through the factory, but the first runs are usually just a couple of pieces to make sure things run smoothly.

E-mail [email protected] for more detailed information.
