So, seeing as how others have been getting their dargies, I contacted the dealer I ordered my SR4 HH and Bongo HS from, and he said maybe late next month, but he didn't really know. Couldn't really be bothered to check.

Asked about maybe ordering a 20th SR5. He'd never heard of it. Couldn't be bothered to check into that either. I am whelmed. Maybe I could be bothered to ask for my deposits back and go elsewhere...

Dang, that's no way to treat a customer. The dealer I used for my Dargie's has been nothing but helpful, and eager to please.

Due to the sensitive nature of my position I cannot comment negatively on disinterested out of date dealers. If I could I would suggest alternative sources like Pete

In retrospect, I wish I had gone with Pete, or most anybody else. This is a big, reputable bass-only dealer that moves a ton of EBMM stuff. Bummer.

Due to the overwhelmingly insensitive nature of my position, which might be best be described as somewhere between prone and semi-upright, I can certainly suggest that you talk to one of our forum-active dealers!

My dealer........

My local dealer is great! :)

He calls the factory and puts me on the phone with Dan.

And I say (in a pirate voice) "ARRRRRR! Danny me old son, where be me Dargies"? :D

And Dan says "Who is this? How did you get this number? Don't ever call here again"! :D :D

Well, not REALLY, but they are very helpful. And so is Dan!

I recommend Pete as well.... :)

Here, gather 'round, boys, I'm old enough to remember the Beatles coming to America. Let me give you an illustrative parable, or perhaps just some unrelated horse-hockey - you decide.

When I was living in Peru and doing all the paperwork in order to wed my beautiful bride, a crusty old woman at the city hall in my neighborhood told me that I was going to have to go to my nearest Peruvian consulate and have them sign things, stamp things, blah blah blah.

I said, "But I live HERE. In Lima. Good woman, there are no Peruvian consulates. Those are all in the United States."

"Right", she said, "and you will have to go to the one nearest your home in the States and they will charge you eight dollars and make violent stamping motions upon your raft of useless papers."

We went back and forth for a while, and I remember asking if she would pay for my flight back to the United States (no). At one point, I may have even suggested that she carry me piggyback.

Finally, I said, "As helpful as you have been, I am convinced that somewhere in this building, there is a person who is about 800 times smarter than you. I want you to go find that person now." There may have been some waving of a diplomatic passport. Or, you know, maybe not. Probably so, though.

Anyway.

She did not love me. But there was another person - a smarter person, someone with more power to make logical decisions. I did not have to fly back to the United States. The smarter person stamped those papers for me, right there at my local city hall.

Illustrative or not, I do not know, but I did have fun thinking about that idiot woman.

I think in the Bible they call it a parable (it has been awhile). Maybe the old woman in his story represents the ignorant unhelpful salesman, and the smarter person in his story is the person with more authority at the dealer.

Or maybe it is like the story that Jules was telling Ringo at the end of Pulp Fiction. Jack is mysterious.

Hell if I know but I'm eyeballing what appears to be a mint Sarzo Signature as Silverburst's profile pic though and thinking "Hey, that's almost "vintage"

Beauty!

Good eye, Steve. Its the only one I have ever seen in person and I bought it on the spot. Still has all the original Alembic electronics, too.
