Friends be patient for your Dargie. I had to pass and save my clams.... we are planning to adopt a Chinese baby. I wish that wait was over in February.

Good on you Lisa. That is the important stuff in this world. We forget sometimes when we get caught up in the music.

Congrats Lisa! Waiting a few months for a bass on order is nothing compared to what you're about to go through. Best of luck with it all!

By far my favorite GC is the one in Redondo Beach on Artesia Blvd.
The manager at that GC (Dave) moved there recently from Indy. He ran a first rate shop here, and I'm sure he's doing very well at the South Bay store. I used to go in and take pictures to post of the bass department because the inventory was so incredible. I think he had to tone it down a little, and it's never been quite the same since (Indy doesn't have a huge market for high end used basses I guess). But they do still have a nice selection of EB basses.

Lisa, congratulations and may your waiting days pass by quickly!

Lisa, that brought a big smile to my face this morning, so happy for you guys and hope everything goes smoothly and quickly. :D

As far as "the waiting", it don't bother me a bit no matter what Tom Petty said. Just gives me more time to finagle the fundage to pay for all this stuff. I'll just keep whanging on my Bongo, thank you, and start acquiring some shipping boxes.

Thanks everyone you are all so sweet. I am soooo excited. It will be a long time from now but we have started the process.

Any baby from China is sure to be a girl..... otherwise I would consider the name Sterling. I loved that name before I even knew the King of the Knuckelheads.

I have already decided that while the baby plays or sleeps I will fill her brain with some jazz by various bass greats. Any favorites? I only know Mingus.

Lisa,

How about Ster-Ling? It's got a Chinese flow to it. And Ling is a feminine name as I recall. :D

I'm not saying this in bigotry, my best friend in the world is the son of Chinese immigrants, and his family is my own and vice versa.

Steve I always love and look forward to your word smithing. Your endowment with the gift of gab makes you such a cunning linguist.:p <--the funniest use of an emoicon to date.

Lisa,

Indeed, my friend will laugh when I tell him that one at lunch tomorrow!
He's coming to the Dallas bash with me! He has an old guitar somewhere that he used to occasionally molest. Lately, he's been thinking of getting into playing so I think this trip will push him over the edge! Besides, he's a huge fan of guitar music (G3 etc.) and loves LaRue, Morse, VinMan.. so he'll be right there on cloud 9 with the rest of us.

NorM,

Never before has an emoticon played so well into a bad pun! I applaud you, sir! ;)
