Well, the Fed Ex man showed up this afternoon with my new SR5 HH Dargie Delight.:)
Pictures really don't do justice to how beautiful these things are in person.

Sorry for the not-so-great pictures. Haven't quite figured out the new camera yet.:(

Really happy to see you get that, Ryan.

I do rather like the looks of those!

Well, it was the pictures of yours that heavily influenced my choice to get this one over the Limited Edition black one. But now that I have it, there is not a single ounce of doubt in my mind that I made the right choice. I still can't get over how cool this looks in person. So, I guess I should say thanks, Jack.:D

It was a rather nervous weekend for me, hoping that no one bought it online from TPB before I could call on Monday morning and tell them I would take it (I avoid credit cards when at all possible).

It'll get its first "real" test tomorrow at a band rehearsal. But based on first impressions, I am loving the sounds it puts out. It just sucks that I can't crank things up with it right now (apartment living).

Someone once suggested that EBMM include a survey with each bass. It would say:

What influenced your decision to buy a Music Man bass?

It was probably bassmonkeee.

I am really wondering why I bought a Spector Euro 5 now, after A/Bing it with the Stingray. The Stingray does everything that the Spector is capable of, times 10. And I can't get over how fast the neck is on this, compared to the baseball bat neck of the Spector.

Hmmm. I think I am still within my 30 day "Satisfaction Guaranteed" period at my local store on the Spector....................................:D

Perfect, return the Spector and pick up that LE that you were considering...:D

congrats Ryan... I was reading your story the other day about your wife demanding you get the DD instead of the LE... my wife basically did the same thing to me. I was just looking for a second 5string.. and my wife walked by as I was looking at the pics of the DD SR5, and she informed me if I bought any bass at all, it had to be THAT bass.

Anyway.. glad your liking it so far. I'm surprised by mine every time I pick it. Enjoy it...

oh.. how about some pics of the neck on that bass... if I remember correctly from the pics at TPB it had some nice birdseye in it.. didn't it??

Yep, that's how it went.

Then, when it came, I made a comment on how great it looks in person. Oops. I got the whole "See, you should listen to me more often" act from her.:D

But I have to admit, I am really glad I went with her on this one.:) I just got through my first band rehearsal with it. I think we're going to get along just wonderfully (me and the bass, that is). This 5-way pickup switching is THE BOMB!!!!
