Good for him, I say!

Someone 'over there' was complaining that these were only for the Forumites and blah blah blah. I said that they were also offered to all the dealers and the smart ones bought some.

I mean, so what?

Some people. It's not like we aren't getting ours.

The guy on TB was extremely excited about the bass. There was no reason to pee on his parade, right?

Good for him, I say again.

Jack

Hear, hear!

May the wind blow the pee back upon the parade pee-er.

hey hey hey hey, wait a minute. that single SR5 has the pickup cover of a dual SR5  When has this been going on since, and is this going to be happening to the SR4's?

I believe it was mentioned that the SR4 will retain the old-style pickup cover.

Well, I have to ask. Would it freak you out if the SR4 had the little thumbrest pickup cover?

Oooh I do wish I'd had the funds to buy a Dargie HS Sterling and an AL!!!

Can't believe someone already has one at home tho and is playing it - that's quite a scary thought... plus it makes me incredibly jealous! :D

I'm pretty sure the middle 'S' route is for the hidden single coil pickup under the pickguard that eliminates single-coil hum.
That's what I was thinking...Then, I don't understand why this one below doesn't feature this extra S hole ?

The StingRays with a single coil pickup have that extra pickup route for the silent circuit. The Sterlings already have the silent circuit pickup attached to the bottom of the bridge humbucker pickup. You can see the extra route in the Sterling (3rd from right).

Actually, if you look at the 4th bass from the right you'll see that the Sterling HS doesn't have that extra deep route. The Sterling HS has a stacked neck S pickup, the bridge pickup is a shallow double-coil just like on the Sterling HH. If you look close you can see that the neck S pickup route is deeper than the H bridge route.

So, then what is that H-S-S looking Sterling?

It's an HS Stingray, Todd. Look at the body shape, it's fatter around the lower bouts. The Stingray HS has two single coil pickups, the middle stays under the pickguard and is intended for humcancelling function only.

So the Stingray HS is rear loaded?
So it isn't a Sterling (because the Sterling HS doesn't have the middle S pickup), so it seems like the single H Stingrays are front-loaded and the dual-pickup stingrays are backloaded? On the drying rack I see a single-H Stingray with the front control route.

Is that getting close?
