It is solid basswood, just super light. It slipped back into the Volvo quite nicely over a year ago.

Do you mean to tell me that you've been holding out on us for over a year on this one???

I think I still prefer the HH to the H, but they are both great basses.
If you like the HH better, I'll take the H off your hands:rolleyes: . Why the HH over the H? (curious)

The Martini Olive Green Bongo has its own special place in Forum Lore.

But that Blue Dawn is just downright sexy.

I like the neck pickup for added bottom. And yes Steve I've been holding out for quite awhile on that one. I've got a couple cool pieces in the works for BP that should be ready in about a week.

Holy Crap. That's amazing.

I'm really going to feel bad about no logo when I have my black sapphire Bongo refinished to something like that blue dawn..... :D

I would pay a $400 premium for that finish. With a clear pickguard? Oh, Man.....

How does that one sound being so light?

I once had another brand of bass built by a guy in the Carolinas whose last name is the first name of the Sheriff on "The Dukes of Hazzard," the body of which was made from Spanish Cedar. It was very lightweight and had a superb, airy yet full tone.

Damn, that is fine Bongo! I'm glad to hear SOMEONE still prefers the HH config. I love you guys, but there's only so much a guy can take about this single H stuff. ;)
Hey, I still have my HH too (and still like it to boot)... I'm just in the H Luvin' phase right now :D

I love my HH too. But I have to wonder about the H goodness since so many (including BP hisownself) prefer it.
Don't know if the right word is "prefer" - I think it is just more along the lines of the "right sound" for what I'm looking for. I can aproximate it with the HH, but to my ears it just isn't it. The H just IS right for me. That isn't to take away from the HH (or the HS's I've tried) - but with my style and my rig the H is it (for me).

That bass is so slick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Bongos have the potential to be nice and light. Someday I am going to order one but I will make a special request for a light piece of wood.
