Hi! New to the Forum - but have played a Silhouette Special for 10+ years. I just acquired a perfect Dark Lord last week - fitting, as Deep Purple has been my favorite band since, well, way back (a Child In Time); and Joe B. is one of my new faves. My questions are: how many DL's were made? When were they produced?
Any spec differences from the normal Y2D? Thanks!

welcome to the forum!

the DL has a 1959 Les Paul neck-shape wich is fatter as a regular Y2D neck.
there has been made about 70 with the BFR badge at the 12th fret and i guess another 70 without - but not sure about the second run.

i love mine, it's a great sounding axe!

btw. we have a rule here, no picture - no guitar!
so go ahead and post some pictures of our DL - because we all love to see pictures of nice EBMM guitars! :)

Approx. 70 on the first run (signed by Steve...)
Approx. 70 on the second run...not signed.
They don't like to give out exact numbers for some reason.
The neck is thicker and the reverse headstock are the main differences that I recall.

Congrats!

Yeah - pics, Pics, PICS! :)

And if anybody is reading this thread in the future... I'm in the market for a clean and complete one of the original signed models.
