I had a JP6 a few years back. Ordered a Koa model, but the band it fit was gone by the time the guitar came in. Never did bond with it. Picked up a LukeIII last week and loving it. Always wanted a SM but never loved the colors-until I saw the DL.

Arrived in my office a few minutes ago. The A/C unit was dead when I got in this morning. Hoping it is toast so I can get out early to mess with this sucker.

And here is the brother-though I flipped the pup around so the screws are where they look right. I had Suhrs in it for a few days, but the original pups seem to fit it better.

One is at home-and the other is behind me at the office-where I really can't play it. Torture. I'd say the darklord smells more, but it hasnt been out of the case. The Luke hung in a store for a week or two so it probably vented itself. Play wise, I am mainly a les paul guy and the morse feels a lot like my les pauls-just not sticky. Which is one of the reasons I am really liking the EBMM stuff-the necks never bind me up. Gonna be hard to get me workout in today with this sucker staring at me.

Overall, I have been a 4 knob/3way switch type for most of my life. But I fell right into the controls for the LukeIII, and the boost is very cool. My only worry is wearing it out because I like it so much. The luke neck is effortless, but seems just a little small-since I am used to bigger, so the DL neck feels more normal-or at least my definition of normal. Though compared to my parnell sig, I think it is smaller. Just playing it acoustically, the DL just rings out in a very warm and toneful way. More so than the Luke. That might be neck, bigger body, dunno. My Luke bridge is against the body with 5 springs, so it's not like it is floating in the breeze. Through a ton of kemper amp profiles, the sucker rings. Can't wait to turn up both at band practice on thursday. I sold a lifeson sig, and an SC58, got these two and still have quite a bit of cash left over.

The Morse got thru QC with the wrong headstock. Send it to me and I'll take care of it for you.

Congrats on both amazing guitars! I wish the blackburst was a standard color and the roasted necks too!!! Would look great next to my purple sunset Y2D hehe. And the LIII is most certainly my next EBMM in HSS.

Both very cool guits. Amazed at how quickly I am getting used to the controls. Spent a few hours with the DL last night. Looks like the DL will be the #1, the Luke will be the 2nd guitar(second tuning for a bunch of songs) and the LPs will stay home. Though I could flip flop the EBs either way. They both play extremely well. Really love the look of the DL, but the switching on both allows for a ton of good and varied tones. I wasnt sure about the morse pups after reading the specs. But they sing.

I got the DL from musicians friend-they had it in stock and only charged 9 bucks to get it overnight. Had a coupon too, so it worked out pretty well. I'm big on that instant gratification thing. The two times i have ordered guitars that took 6 months to get in-they didnt fit what I needed those 6 months later.
