I got the DL from musicians friend-they had it in stock and only charged 9 bucks to get it overnight. Had a coupon too, so it worked out pretty well.

Damn, this has to be one of the worst replies ever...those details have my hands sweating...maybe I´ll get it

Edit: Guitar Center has it also, and has a better coupon for July 4th..it is 100 bucks cheaper than Musicians Friend...in case anyone is interested....

Hah! Sorry to be an enabler. I have no regrets on minr. The DL is an amazing beast. The only thing it lacked was the boost the Luke has. I just love that little sucker. I contacted EBMM to see if a drop in model was/would be available-not at this time. Bummer. Since they are the A/B guitars for the band(two tunings), I need to same functionality out of both.

So, I ended up throwing in an EMG PA-2 preamp and setting the pot so it does the same sort of minor gain boost. I need to get out the dremel and clean up the plastic, but I needed to get this sucker together for practice tonight-and sadly I also have a wake to get to. That said, it doesnt look too bad and the location is very comfortable.

I value your dedication to your needs...and your bravery!!!

Was that scary drilling through for the PA-2?

It's always a little scary drilling holes in guitars. Not like i have the best tools either. But, it is part of the hobby for me. I rewire stuff, replace pups, put in longer bridge posts and wholesale swap electronics etc. Brand new high end stuff-the first day I am tweaking it.

Though, at this point I am happy with both guitars from EBMM. The Luke is completely stock again(I had suhrs in it for a bit) and the DL only has this added switch(PA-2 hiding inside).

Even if I decide I don't need the PA2(but so far I like it a lot), I'd just throw in a different switch and set it up as a blower(switch/pot bypass) for the bridge pup.

Comparing the two, I think the luke is a little louder/all axefx-2 settings the same. And it is a very comfortable guitar to play. The neck size on the DL is more my thing so it is the #1 now, but I look forward to throwing on the Luke for the songs that are tuned down a half step.
